Entrepreneur, Michelle Hawkins began Indian Springs Custom Gifts after selling her business of 20 years "Alabama Weddings Magazine" in December 2020. With now newly found time to enjoy creating handmade items, Michelle researched, studied and experimented the art of soy candle making. Investing in essential oils, testing blends, incorporating dried flowers and herbs with her hand-poured soy candles she also began designing personalized jewelry for her candles. Wholesaling candles and hand & body soaps to local Birmingham boutique gift shops and marketing her products on social media the name Indian Springs Custom Gifts began making its mark.
When a dear friend whose mother lost her beloved dog, Michelle designed and made a personalized pet memorial candle with a photo charm and metal-stamped name tag. After receiving a heartfelt "thank you" response for her custom Personalized Pet Candle, Michelle was touched and decided to include this product into her line. This unique specialized gift is perfect for any pet lover or treasured pet memorial.
With a passion for all furry and feathered pets, Michelle felt she wanted a way to give-back, so for every Pet Candle sold, $5 is donated to an amazing local rescue, The Cavalier Rescue.
